Just as teachers vary modes of communication and instruction in their classrooms, we strive to also present valuable information through different mediums. With that, we here at 2e News are excited to present this audio column, authored by Emily Kircher-Morris. As host of the Mind Matters podcast, Kircher-Morris covers myriad topics in the realm of giftedness, including twice-exceptionality.
In this Timeout for 2e audio piece, Kircher-Morris chats with Christen Leah, a twice-exceptional college student who reflects on her own educational and social experiences. Leah describes when she first noticed that she thought differently than her peers and how her anxiety and autism spectrum disorder diagnosis presented obstacles in her efforts to complete homework and pursue her interests.
"High school was really rough," said Leah, 19. "I couldn't wait for it to be over."
